What do we do?
Dot to Dot is a participatory arts company. This means that we work with community groups, organisations and agencies to plan and deliver arts projects by running workshops with people to make art objects or events. It could be a small local group like a Beaver troupe, an organisation such as a community association or school or a larger body like a Children’s Centre, a Local Authority or a Health Trust.
What is important is that participants are involved and have the opportunity to be creative. Groups often also want to use the arts to say something about themselves, or to communicate information, opinions, ideas or dreams.
Dot to Dot believes that the process is as important as the end product, and that both should be of high quality and enjoyable.
Projects have clear and measurable Aims, Objectives and Outcomes: Practical Goals, for example:
- Parents developing positive relationships with their children
- Children and young people eating more fruit and vegetables
- Reduction in number of police call-outs on Halloween
- Combating graffiti
