Involving Black and Minority Ethnic Communities

Dot to Dot works with black and ethnic minority community (B&ME) groups to create projects especially with individual communities and ensure black and ethnic minority groups participate in larger arts projects. Dot to Dot also seeks to support black and ethnic minority community and inter-faith events.

Dot to Dot also works with B&ME groups to support both traditional and innovative community events and celebrations, and in 2009 established Portsmouth’s first ever Henna Art competition. For information about this event in subsequent years, click here to contact Dot to Dot on info@dottodot.org.uk.

Many B&ME have very particular visual traditions and strengths which can represent them positively to the wider community and celebrate their contribution and achievements. Dot to Dot also seeks to support emerging B&ME artists.
